Language Ladder Library Donation
In December 2023, we visited the Mohini Devi Memorial School in Araria, Bihar to interact with students and introduce the project as well as its importance in the Indian context. Additionally, we hosted an art competition for 120+ students in Grades 2 and 3 and Grades 9 and 10 on themes of inclusivity and celebrating the diversity of India.
In May 2024, we visited the school once more to supplement their existing library and encourage young girls to engage with Indian books on key topics. We donated 17 copies of famous Hindi books centred around themes of culture, gender, society, and caste by authors like Munshi Premchand and Mannu Bhandari, along with 40 copies of the original Bridging Worlds Storybook Series for younger students. We also conducted reading sessions with the original children's books for students in Grades 2 and 3, as well as those in Grades 9 and 10.
We will also be setting up libraries with the original children's books at two schools for children from underserved communities in Rajasthan, namely, the Government Senior Secondary School, Mangal, and the Primary School, Bangamata.
